One Companion dimmer in Maestro 4-way dims "opposite way" than expected

Installed a Maestro master and 2 companion dimmers in a 4-way setup. One of the companion dimmers, where 4-way switch was before, dims the lights in the opposite direction with the toggle - i.e. toggle up, lights dim. Toggle down, lights get brighter. Dimmer otherwise works fine. Other companion and master switch work as expected. No, dimmer is not installed upside down. Ideas?

It sounds like a wiring issue. Starting from the end where power enters the circuit: black is power-in, brass goes to the next device/load, blue is used for communication. I typically use the red wire for communication as it is the easiest to trace through the circuit. You should have 2 red wires attached to the blue terminal in the middle device.

Appreciate reply. Had to trace correct control wire through the circuit - original wiring done years ago had wiring color change somewhere. Once traced and corrected companion dimmers work as they should.
