The external temp is wifi enabled vs an outdoor sensor you'd wire or wirelessly put in. These are notorious of not being accurate because they're not placed correctly - thus Internet.

There's a HomeKit Guide for Integration, there's a full spec out there for HomeKit integration. It's pretty straight forward.

Is there any type of training on using the Connect Bridge for those of us not in a mega city? Even an online manual/guide would be awesome. I didn't have a bridge installed, but I couldn't figure out how to had the Honeywell thermostat on my short inspection.

Is the documentation for the Connect Bridge available online yet? I did some searching but I can't find anything other than the spec.

6 easy steps
1 Add it to your project in 10.0 or higher GUI
2 Connect to network as shown
3 Plug it in
4 transfer and activate. Activate Processors will now show as Activate Processors and Connect Bridge in Activate tab
5 Download and install app on phone
6 Follow directions in app, step by step
Done
BTW, the iPad version is still using the old Home+ UI, so don't be surprised when you see it.

Adding Honeywell

1 Go to Settings (Gear Icon)
2 Select add thermostat
3 Select Sign in to Honeywell Account
You have to have a Honeywell wifi thermostat and account to actually do it.
Have fun,
Phil

Yes, you are right, and my hunch is that when Lutron and Apple are nearly done with those steps, you would see an announcement.

As of this time the is no Apple HomeKit compatibility with the Connect Bridge. I have no other information at this time if or when the Connect Bridge will or will not get that availability. Keep an eye out for information on lutron.com for these types of announcements since they are usually placed on the system in questions page (whether RadioRA 2 or HomeWorks QS).

I am assuming because they documentation already shows a bridge 2 that they will do the same as they did with Caseta and the bridge too. Adopt too soon and you will need to swap the bridge out once Apple HomeKit bridge is available.

I spoke to tech support this evening on another matter, the current connect bridge has all the necessary hardware/firmware for HomeKit once Apple deems it worthy.

From that documentation you quoted, I think the only difference between -1 and -2 models is wether it comes "with power supply" or "without power supply".
