Contact Closure for Door Locks or Gas Valves

Have a client wanting to replace a single pole switch currently being used for unlocking doors. The switch does not have 110 to it.I’m proposing using an LMJ-CCO-24 module. Since it requires 24V I’d put a doorbell transformer inline to step down the 110 to power the module. I’d the use the CC interface to trigger the locks. Programming would be via a keypad button press.Would this also work on Fireplace gas valves?

I have had issues getting the QSE-IO to control fireplaces. Part of the issue was the shared common. That meant instead of 5 CCOs I only got 3. (CCO 1&2 and 3&4 shared a common). The other issue was inductive loads (like relays). The submittal and Tech Support says you have to use DC voltage with a flyback diode. The docs for the LMJ say it is rated for resistive but don't mention inductive.

The LMJ is also a latching CCO. If the door is locked and you lose power, you can not unlock the door unless there is a physical override on the door itself.

I've successfully used the contact closures on a VCRX for fireplaces. They can be set to maintained or pulse if I recall correctly.
