Lightbulb RA2 Select Inline dimmer vs PowPack

Hi,We're building a new build home, and are looking at RA2 select (Radio RA2 not available in the UK)Forgive the lack of technical knowledge, but what is the difference between the inline dimmer switch and the PowPack? My understanding is that the inline dimmer is placed close to the light fixture, for each individual circuitCan the Powpack control multiple circuits, but still allow for dimming of specific circuits to create scenes? Thanks,Raj

The inline dimmer/switch and the PowPak are similar. The big difference is the mounting. The inline dimmer/switch can be installed anywhere in the line. The PowPak requires a junction box. The big difference is the type of control. The inline dimmer looks like it is only available in reverse phase/ELV/trailing edge. The PowPak looks like it is only available for 0-10v control. Both styles have a switch/relay version.

The PowPak only has 1 radio so it can only control 1 group of lights.

    Thanks for your post Raj,

Both Inline devices and PowPacks are controlling single zone of lighting either with a simple switching (ON/OFF) protocol or with dimming capacities. So the main difference between Inlines devices and PowerPacks are:

In regards to the dimmers, the Inline dimmer (RRK-R25NE-240) can control reverse phase (also called trailing edge) dimmable lamps whereas the dimming Powpack (LMK-5T-DV-B) can control 0-10V dimmable drivers/lamps.

In regards to the switching devices, the Inline switch (RRK-R6ANS-240) has a maximum load capacity of 6A of lighting load and 2A/0.5HP of motor load whereas the switch PowerPack (LMK-16R-DV-B) has a maximum load capacity of 16A of lighting load and 6A of motor load.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call us on 0207 702 0657 (Option 1). I hope you have a great day!
