    Dimmer switch..

Is it possible when replacing a dimmer switch for the outlet to have more than one common wire?

I'm not sure I follow. I would not have a dimmer control a plug-in outlet. The chances of plugging something like a vacuum in are high and it will damage the vacuum and the dimmer.

Receptacles are wired in series. You have power coming in and going out to the next receptacle. You can also have power going to non-receptacles (like a switch box). So yes, you can have multiple hot and neutral wires attached to a receptacle.
