Echo (Alexa) discovered 1st PD-15OUT-BL as a light, the second as a switch

Greetings,

I installed two Lutron PD-15OUT-BL smart plugs today to control two separate runs of pathway and deck lights.

The Lutron app found them both immediately and they’re functioning as expected in the Lutron app.

The Alexa app, while it discovered both PD-15OUT-BL smart plugs, put one in its ‘lights’ group and the other in its ‘switches’ group.

It doesn’t makes any difference to me where these end up in Alexa — they’re plug-in switches that control lights — but I’d like them grouped consistently. I’m adding both of these to an Alexa group named ‘Outside,’ but having one exterior smart plug labeled as a switch and the other labeled as a light has potential to create confusion down the road.

Anyone know how to make Alexa put one or the other of these PD-15OUT-BL smart plugs in the other Alexa group?

Found my solution.

In the Alexa app, click the device type icon at the top of the app containing the device you want to move.

Alexa shows the devices in that device group.

Click to select the device you want to move.

Alexa opens a status screen for that device (ON/OFF)

Click the gear (settings) icon to open detail about the specific device.

Click ‘Type’ and select the new device type to assign this device.
