The Audio/Video person had also integrated his system to my system and all was well and I would periodically update the system and upgraded it to version 13 one day and everything seemed fine. The next day I got a very unhappy customer on the phone asking why her touch screens weren't turning on the lights so I asked them to check with the AV guy to see if it's his system or my system and it turned out it was MY system. Without giving me an option to stick to the old Lutron:Intergration setup, all of the telnet login information was wiped off and not only that, by the time we figured out what had happened, 3 frustrating hours later, we found out that the system had locked out and would need a hard reset which meant I had to go there to do a hard reset. Security is a choice. If we are to be professionals, we should be trusted to know what situations warrant something like a multi-factor security and what doesn't need much because it's just local and if a hacker gains access to the house physically, there are bigger problems than their light scenes being compromised. I can tell you that if Telnet is gone, I will not upgrade the system because it will become useless for integration. You can't just take features that were working away. As far as RPM support goes, by making them obsolete, you have completely lost any motivation to upgrade LiteTouch systems unless you come up with an upgrade path with DIN power modules for it. I cannot in good faith sell a soon to be obsolete system to a person who is already going through the trauma of upgrading another obsolete system. I don't want to have that conversation with them again in 8 years if their QS processor dies and they're told they have to rip out all their old RPMs and put in DIN. Truthfully, I'm not a fan of RPMs because it's pretty outdated to use a Module Interface that costs so much money in each panel and can easily add $10,000 to a job but you can't get rid of something without having a replacement. Speaking of DIN panels, are they in the designer software? I swear I had looked and they weren't there. They also weren't in any of the system overviews.
