Caseta and Wink Hub 2 first switch as extender

I have searched the forum and found an answer that was kind of vague and need to really understand what my options are.If I am using my Caseta light switches with a Wink Hub 2 from scratch, is the first switch I add to the system an extender? That's really all I need to know. Has anyone tested this? Thanks!

A wink system can't have an extender of any kind. A system with a Lutron bridge can have one plug-in lamp dimmer function as a range extender.
