Maestro MACL-LFQH-WH Fan Going One Very Slow Speed

    Hello -

My fan used to work fine but recently has only been turning very slowly no matter what i select with the up/down rocker.

I attempted to fix it by pulling the fan chain (i figured possibly someone had pulled it by accident, etc), and now i'm getting the result that every other pull of the chain makes the dimmer inoperable (fan and light) and yields to rapid blinking followed by a pause, repeat.

    so to reiterate:
    - pull the chain - dimmer works but fan is slow no matter what speed is selected
    - pull the chain - dimmer doesn't work anymore and produces rapid blinking in a repeated pattern
    - pull the chain - dimmer works, fan slow
    - pull the chain - dimmer doesn't work, rapid blinking
    - repeat, etc

To troubleshoot i replaced the fan with a brand new ceiling fan. I also have visually inspected the capacitor of this brand new fan and it appears fine. So i've narrowed the problem to elsewhere, not the fan.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You have probably already tried this...

Double tap the fan on/off button. This will force it to the highest speed.
Bypass the MACL and see if the fan responds correctly.
Make sure the fan motor is connected to the yellow lead.
Make sure there is no remote/receiver in the system. They are usually in the canopy but can be in the fan housing.
