    PD-6ANS Defective?

I recently un-installed a PD-6ANS from controlling a ceiling fan (with no issues) and moved it to my downstairs bathroom to control the lights. The control seems to have enough power (the FASS switch properly turns off all power to switch) but the lights are on a dim brightness. When trying to turn the ON, there is a full strength FLASH from all the bulbs connected to the switch, which lasts about 1 second, then it returns to the low level dim brightness.

I have "factory reset" the switch using the 5 tap OFF button method, and tried the 3 tap ON method of reset with no effect.

I have re-wire the connection and the switch stopped working properly (the FASS switch actually turned the lights on but not full power, with the FASS off the lights are off).

Neutral wire is connected and all other switches in that gang box work.

    Thoughts?

Factory defaulting the 6ANS won't have any effect on performance.

    Some questions:
    - If you bypass the 6ANS or reinstall the previous switch, do the lights come back on and stay on full bright?
    - What kind of lights are connected to the 6ANS? Incandescent/Halogen or LEDs?
    - Is this a single-pole circuit or a 3-way circuit?
    - Do you have anything connected to the blue wire on the 6ANS?
    - Do you have the power from the breaker connected to the black wire of the 6ANS and the lighting load connected to the red wire of the 6ANS?

Generally the flashing is a result of miswiring. As BrianW said, make sure nothing is connected to blue and power-in is on the black.

    1. Old switch renders proper functionality.
    2. LED, ones used elsewhere in my Lutron ecosystem with nonissue
    3. Single pole
    4. Nothing on blue wire...just capped off
    5. I will switch to make sure proper wiring (hot and load) are correct. Report back later
