what switch is best for non dimming loads?

    1. the 8ans is 150$ and the 8s-dv is 200$ whats the differnce?

    2. will either work on can trims with built in led?

    3. and will either work on ELV and MLV transformers for landscaping and led tape light.

    4. If not, whats the best switch for non dimming loads for all the above?

    thanks in advance!

actually now looking at the price of a 6nd it would be 10$ cheaper to dim everything v.s. not dimming... would the 6nd work for all of the above though?

The 8S-DV is rated for 120-277v and does not require a neutral. The 8ANS is rated for 120v and requires a neutral connection. I doubt you have 277v in your house so if there is a neutral connection available, go with the 8ANS.

The 6ND will not dim ELV (reverse phase, trailing edge, etc.). Dimming LEDs is going to be a challenge. Some are not dimmable at all. Some just say "dimmable" with no details about how to dim them. Lutron has a list of tested LEDs but there are lots of others that will work with the 6ND. There will be some trial and error involved.
