This would work if you were using the Pico to turn on something else in Caseta and then wanted to add the MRF2, but it would only work from that specific Pico- not the app.
Thanks Mike! So is there another option? I liked the MRF2 as it appeared fairly weatherproof. I'll be putting this in a mostly-protected environment (one in eaves of an outdoor porch and another under the deck), but need the 3 prongs (string of Feit LED outdoor party lights), so the standard Caseta lamp controller/dimmer with 2-prong polarized plug won't do it for me.And if not, I could live with pico-only control. I have a few extra PJ2-3BRL laying around. Do you know if all Pico are the same - will these work with Maestro even though I bought them boxed with Caseta products?

    Sorry, forgot

And if it matters, I just want on/off control. Dimming isn't that important here. Thanks in advance.

The MRF2 appliance module is NOT waterproof by any means. The Pico will work from Caseta to Maestro Wireless if they are just being paired- Picos are agnostic of the systems. Best bet will be a Caseta PD6ANS in a weatherproof plastic box with a flip cover. Then it can be part of your system and controlled via the app.

    I think heat killed mine...

I wired a deck up for my parents. They wanted all of the deck lights and pool pump to work with homekit. And their existing Lutron Caseta system.

I built an electrical panel for everything and housed the switches in the panel, and used the 3 way wiring method to hook up a toggle switch for each switch using an outdoor rated “dumb switch” so you didn’t have to rely on using phone and could physically turn the lights on the old fashioned way. Everything worked for several months, but this year when we started the pump, and tried turning the lights on using the toggle switches the lutron switch just clicks on and off until you turn the toggle switch off. The lutron switch will come on and stay on when pressing the on button or using the smart phone app, but when using the toggle switch, they just refuse to work.

The enclosure I used is definitely water tight, but I think the heat or cold weather has damaged the electronics in the switch itself.

Here is a link to view the switches mounted in my panel.

And here is a link to a picture showing the wiring behind the lutron switches.

Also note that the lutron switches are only switching the relays I have right next to the switch. This is because the deck lighting is 24vdc led strips. The strips rgb+tunable white is controlled by an outdoor philips hue controller fed into the amplifiers, so to make this work with a dumb switch instead of your phone I am shorting the white channel to 0vdc using the relays. Same for the underwater pool light. Also the pool pump is a 20 amp pump, so the lutron switch for it is pulling in a larger relay. So essentially there is no load whatsoever on these lutron Caséta switches. They only pull in relays.
