Is this an error in the wiring schematic for a 3-way install of the fan control

I am probably missing something here, but the wiring diagram and the schematic do not appear to align? Just want to verify before I wire everything up.

So I went ahead and wired it up according to the first wiring diagram. Everything works fine. It appears that the second schematic is considering an alternate installation at location 2 instead of location 1 with alternate wiring?

I believe you are correct on the 2nd drawing showing a different placement of the control.

However, I would not put 2 wirenuts on the neutral. Way to much stuff to cram in a box as it is.
