Thread: Shutter control?

    Shutter control?

I've got a motorized storm shutter that I'd sure like to control with ra2. It uses a high voltage type control -- hot to "up" to raise, hot to "down" to lower, hot not connected to stop motion.

Is there any way to control such a thing with ra2?

Since the shutter are controlled using high voltage you could use the contact closure outputs on a VCRX unit to control a relay. The relay would connected to the line voltage wires. When the contact closure on the VCRX is closed the replay would close to control the shutter. When the output is opened the relay would open.
