Switch for CFL Light Fixture
I thought that the 6CL was supposed to be the workhorse now...
I am trying to bring a fixture that has two CFLs in it on line, but when I install the 6CL, it goes whacky... light turns on and off... switch kind of buzzes. Does anyone know what switch I need for this? The fixture say to use 26w CFLs. They are not a traditional "screw in" bulb replacement, it is just a two pole bulb.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Corey

You need to check if the ballast for this fixture is dimmable. If it is, you'll need to know the ballast part number, or it's type of dimming- two-wire forward phase, three-wire, 0-10V, PWM. Once that is known, the proper dimmer can be selected. If these are already installed in the home and you can't get to the ballast, I would assume that it is a non-dimming ballast and use the RRD-8ANS-xx switch to just turn them on and off.

I was looking to see if it was dimmable and while the fixture purchased is supposed to be dimmable, the bulbs provided do not dim. I have an 8ANS available, but unfortunately this room was not re-wired as part of the renovation (the system is being installed after the fact) and there was no neutral line exposed in the box. I know this can be remedied, I was just hoping there was another way without having to change the wiring.
Thanks for the help...

Corey-
Use the RRD-8S-DV-xx, it is a switch that does not require the neutral.

Perhaps a simpler way to go is replace the bulbs with dimmable LEDs and stick with the 6CL.
