    Plug-in Dimmer humming

I setup a plug-in dimmer last night, and it hums once you plug it in (without any lamps being plugged into it). It's not that loud of a hum, but it's definitely there. Is this normal?

With the lamps plugged in and turned on the humming is quite loud, but that could be due to my Cree LED bulbs (I haven't checked whether they are officially compatible).

The one we have here in house does buzz faintly, but you can't hear it unless your ear is about an inch away from the unit.

The loud humming you are experiencing with the Cree LED may be due to an incompatibility between the dimmer and the LED. Here is the link to the current approved LED list: http://www.casetawireless.com/Docume...ulb%20list.pdf (see pages 7-8).
