Remote access outside U.S. ?
Is the remote access feature gonna be rolled out outside the U.S. ? If we want the apple watch control to be so very cool we're gonna need that. NAT is hardly as convenient (not to mention security concerns).

Thank you for the feedback. At this time we do not have a tentative date for when the remote access feature will be available outside USA/CA.

Come on, guys. Now that the apple watch app is released, we need that. I can't tell my customers to connect to their VPN then put their phone back in their pocket and use their watch to turn the lights on.

Hi Armando,
Any news on remote access? We're getting lots of calls about this because of the apple watch.

Why do you think this is happening? Why people were not calling about remote access from their iPhones, but now started calling about remote access from their apple watches?

For one thing, picking the iPhone, enabling the VPN then launching the app was possible. What's the point of the watch app if one needs to pull the phone out of one's pocket first ?

We can only hope after watching the keynote from apple that the watch will be able to run native apps as discussed and Lutron will be onboard with that. They Keynote was interesting when talking about running apps directly from the watch. I agree though the vpn issue will be tough to overcome. I find most of our clients security teams have strict log in protocols especially about saving password so even if the vpn could be started from within the app the password would be tough to overcome . Maybe a fingerprint reader on the watch to log in LOL

Homekit is the solution.
No VPN, no NAT, no nothing. iCloud power.
No kidding !
