    Programming logic capabilities of SB/SBP

Is there any information/documentation that clearly details what kind of programming logic can be achieved with the SB or SBP? I'm sure that there are limitations, especially when compared to RR2.

    asherrick,
The scene capabilities are set to single button logic from the app. In order to turn something "off", you need to add a second scene and set all the dimmers/switches to 0%/off. More complex logic would be available if you are using third party integration.

When I say "programming logic", I'm referring to the system reacting to events. For example, I know that you can schedule things (e.g. turn certain lights on at dawn). I just don't know what the possibilities (and limitations) are. One of the obvious limitations is that you can't use motion sensors with the system, so the system can't react to anything triggered by motion.

It seems like the SBP will offer more of this through the third party integrations like IFTT, but it's all very nebulous in terms of what you can achieve. Ultimately what I'm trying to determine is whether Caseta will meet my needs or whether I need to move up to RadioRA

IFTTT has a lot of possibilities with Caseta and there are several recipes already created. I would lean towards Caseta if your scene needs are simple or your place is relatively small (under 2500 sq ft, tract home type 2 story). If you have a lot of scenes you would like, or the house would require auxiliary repeaters, then you should go Ra2.

Not only that. Caseta does not have fade-in and fade-out timers, so no sunrise simulations, either. It has no keypads, no rooms in software, etc. One upside, it has free remote access, which RA2 doesn't have.

What do you mean by that? I apologize for my ignorance.

Ra2 Software can place dimmers and switches into a room, so the user can look at the whole house or just the room that they are currently wanting to control from the app. Caseta does not have this feature.
