plug in lamp module used as an on/off switch

In the advanced settings you can use the lamp dimmer module as an on/off switch. Can you use this as a basic appliance controller? If you do not go over the rated wattage and not use it on anything that requires a motor rated controller, this should be able to turn on and off other electronic devices???? Can you explain if yes we can or why we may not be able to use it as an on/off switch for something other than lamp control.

    LightingUup,

Unfortunately, changing the 3PCL to act as a switch will not change it load type ratings. You will be able to switch Incandescent, Halogen, LED, and CFL up to the approved wattage. You will not be able to switch an electronic appliance.
