"No Compatible Scenes In This Area" in Lutron Connect App

I have the Lutron Connect App running on an Android phone and tablet. Everything works as it should including Alexa integration. The problem is that in setting up Alexa items some of the areas are grayed out with a "?" that returns "No Compatible Scenes In This Area" when tapped. All I want is for one light that appears as a keypad button to turn on and off with Alexa. In looking at the way things are set up in 10.7, I can't see any configuration differences between those that are OK and those that aren't. Any thoughts on what I should be looking for?
