I think that I remember hearing at the Caseta Tour Training that I went to that you could make the plug in lamp dimmer into a switch only load controller for non dimmed loads thru some button push configuration... haven't found that published anywhere...

I tried that recently - changed plug-in dimmer to a switch - and found out that Caseta app still shows it as a dimmer. Kevin, is that a known issue, and will that be fixed in the app soon?
The app doesn't currently have the ability to differentiate if the PD-3PCL is in dimmer mode or switching mode. I'll forward this to our engineers to see if there is anything they can do in app in the future.
