Hello,
After successfully extracting an Illumination database, I go to open the file and Windows tells me "HomeWorks Illumination Non-Beta has stopped working" and then closes. I have extracted the database via ethernet and with RS-232. Same thing happens. I am running windows 10 and Illumination software is 1.65.

Homework's Illumination software is not completly compatible with Windows 10. This may not be the root issue, but just as a consideration for you to know. However, you can send your project file into hwsupport@lutron.com and Lutron can attempt to repair the project file for you or give you more information as to why it is not working.

Thank you very much Corey. I had a feeling it had something to do with the operating system.
Do you think I would have better luck using a machine with Windows 7 or 8 when working with Illumination software?

Absolutely. You may still run into instances where an extracted file may not open but regarding OS stability you 100% want to use Windows 7 or 8. If you are running one of those operating systems and still run into issues just remember you have hwsupport@lutron.com in your back pocket for possible file assistance.
