RA2 repeater interfering with another system on 433.6mhz?

I'm relaying an issue my GC said he's having at another client's site. They said they've got an RA2 repeater and a third-party shade controller operating on 433.6Mhz, and the shade controller doesn't work if the RA2 system is plugged in. When they unplug it, things work. I'm surprised the repeater would be sending much traffic when idle, or that there's interference at all given garage door openers operate around this frequency. Is this something others have seen? Anything to be done other than spread them apart?

Somfy shades operate on this frequency, and I had issues with interference when RR2 buttons and Somfy buttons were pressed at similar times. But I didn't see the issue you describe where the shades stop working entirely. Unfortunately I can be of much more help. I replaced the Somfy shade hardware with Lutron hardware.

Were the Somfy shades installed before the RA2 system? As part of its initialization RA2 looks for the cleanest frequency. You could reset the Main Repeater back to factory default and re-initialize. That will make it re-scan. I don't believe there is a way to force RA2 to a specific frequency but if resetting doesn't work it would be worth a call to tech support.

BTW, I thought Somfy was in the 868MHz range??

Older Somfy shades maybe? The Somfy R28 RTS operates on 433.42 MHz.
