Lutron Skylark. SFSQ?LF on 115v 50Hz
Lutron Skylark. SFSQ?LF
Hunter Original ceiling fan.
I have been using the Lutron Skylark fan control for years in a 115v 60Hz environment.
I am now in a 115v 50Hz environment and trying to use the same 115v 60Hz control.
It (the switch) does not seem to like this as the reduced speed positions produce too slow a speed. On LOW the fan is barely turning.
To compound the problem, the fan is a 60Hz fan.
I could use some advice on how to improve the situation.
I have not been able to find out the method that the Skylark uses to control the speed. (capacitors?)
I know the control switch is good because there two fans that do the same. Fans have been tested.
Apart from the obvious problems running a 60Hz motor on 50HZ, the transformers I have seen are too large to use. (115v to 98v)
The Hz converters are likewise too large.
So I'll just have to live with the risk.
Thanks
Joe
