Problem with Lutron Switch MA-T530G
Hello. Our bathroom light set up which consists of a vanity light controlled by a paddle switch, a shower recessed light and Panasonic FV-08VQ3 fan both controlled by the MA-T530G switch. This means once you turn on the countdown timer, the shower recess light and Panasonic fan both come on and remain on through the time selected. The countdown timer and the paddle switch are in a 2-gang plate and worked seamlessly for about 10 years with both LED and non LED bulbs. 6 weeks ago, the shower light began to flicker when the countdown timer is turned on and the fan stopped working. We changed the bulb from LED to non LED but had same issue. We disconnected the timer and installed a regular switch. The shower light worked but the fan did not. An electrician came and said the timer was bad and that blew the fan. So, we bought a new fan, Panasonic FV-0511VQ1 and replaced the old fan. Same issue. We replaced the timer with a paddle switch and both fan and light work. We installed the timer in our playroom which has two recessed lights and the timer works and is currently still installed and working there. Any ideas what happened and what can be done to fix this? I called Lutron support and they said the switch stopped working because of compatibility issues. If that was the problem, why did it work flawlessly for 10 years? Is there another countdown timer that would work with our setup? Thanks.
