installing motion sensor horizontally

Hi
Due to space limitations I need to turn the motion sensor (MSCL-OP153M) 90 degrees and mount it horizontally above the countertop in my kitchen. Will it still provide decent coverage of the room? I'm concerned that detection range will be severely restricted.

We cannot recommend turning the sensor sideways in the wallbox. Our controls are designed in such a way that the heat escapes through the top of the control. Putting the control sideways will not allow the heat to escape at intended.
