Older unit - at least 5 years. Suddenly won't turn off the light completely nor make the light brighter. Bulb is continuously on low. Any ideas?

in other words the dimmer doesn't work at all and won't shut off.
CL dimmers generally require 1 LED bulb as a minimum load. This can vary significantly based on the electronics in the bulb. It may just be the bulb has gotten a little older and no longer meets the minimum load criteria.
